Director Biography:
Sergio Castro San Martín is part of the new voices of the Chilean cinema. In 2009 he wrote and directed his thesis film THE WALK, selected in several film festivals. THE MUD WOMAN won the Hubert Bals Fund and was selected in Cinema in Construction from San Sebastian Film festival and at Berlinale (Forum) 2015.

Director Statement:
“I heard several news that took place in different regions of Chile, related to the sacrifice and trade of the fruit seasonal workers. I find it equally interesting and contradicting to watch these real workers of the fruit, spread out in landscapes of moving natural beauty, working ten hours a day in conditions that are almost inhuman; no communication, victims of the fear and violence, and even sometimes the assault from the contractors of this industry. I was interested in a film that focuses on the work issue, because is in this place that we spend a great part of our lives and where fears and joys manifest.”
